It is always fun to go to a photo shoot when I know people have taken the time to think about what exactly they want out of a session. I always have lots of ideas for posing, but it's fun when people have their own props and ideas - I am always up for trying something new or different! Erika and Aaron came with some little signs they had crafted for their baby Ella, who is due in a couple of weeks, and brought some of Ella's shoes. It was a such a fun photo shoot, I love how the pictures turned out!

I love to do family portraits! It's so fun to capture families being themselves together. The pictures that I personally always treasure the most are of the times when someone gets a shot of all 5 of my family members together, no matter what we are doing. For a long time my only "family portrait" was a picture that had my son in his pj's, but I loved that picture because it was of all of us. So it's fun for me to be able to provide the same for another family. This family braved the very un-Spring weather we were having and we managed to sneak these pictures in while it was only 50 degree weather and in between rainstorms. Gotta love MN.

Senior sessions are always fun!! I had never gotten to do a photo shoot at a ski hill before, and I always like to try new locations. It was a great place for a shoot and we were able to take these just a few days after a bunch of fresh snow fell.

I got the kids all dressed up for Easter, matchy outfits and all. I love how the pictures turned out!

I love the holidays, and I love doing photo shoots during the holidays. How much fun it is to have a Christmas tree for a backdrop?!

I did this maternity shoot just before Christmas, and can you believe this baby is due any day? If only we could all look so fabulous pregnant. :) Diane and Noel let me pose them forever in front of the tree to try some artistic shots, trying to get the right kind of silhouette picture.

Here are my favorites:

I am pretty sure my all time favorite sessions to do are the sessions that involve brand spankin' fresh new tiny human beings. There is nothing in this world quite like holding a new person. And, of course it's fun that I get to hold them and capture their wonderful cuteness, but when they cry they don't want me. It's a perfect relationship in my opinion! :)

I got to meet Anthony when he was only 10 days old and still had his umbilical cord! He was absolutely cute and perfectly adorable. As with most all newborn shoots, Anthony decided he didn't really feel like sleeping like a newborn and that he had important business to do, like making dirty diapers and eating lots. So while he was taking care of his very important matters, I hung out with his big sister Olivia who loved my camera. We had lots of fun playing with sparkly purses and jewelry and taking pictures.
